For the entire month of November, I composed a unique soundtrack everyday. A random word generator picked the 30 words. Here is the entire playlist of 30 tracks.
I went for old detective noir jazz, giving me a chance to do some extended chords on piano, duplicating them on vibraphone, and then improving over the top on upright bass.
"Vector Forward" - Music and animation by me.
I've always wanted to do a retro video game mock up. This is the music of my childhood, quirky yet uplifting, using the Lydian music mode to bring an even more ethereal feel.
"The Brigade" - Music and animation by me.
A love letter to progressive rock, written with care on synthesizer. I wanted to evoke the feel of early 70's science fiction. I created the animation in After Effects, where the starfield is actually a picture I took of scattered rock salt. The texture and atmosphere of the planet are made from a picture of the tile floor in my studio.
A theme that inspires tales of ancient times, adventure, and exploration. Performed on my home made Koto like instrument, tuned to the Dorian music mode, giving a feel of wonder and mystery.
